Hold Ticket

For the purpose of applying for a visa, a hold ticket, also known as a reservation or dummy ticket, is a reservation for a return flight. Because it isn't paid for, unlike airline tickets, it is known as a hold ticket. You can apply and wait for your visa grant confirmation before paying for your air ticket because once you've gotten a hold ticket for your flights, the reservation is often held in your name for a few weeks.
